Who we are
Blue Ocean Payroll is an independent human capital management (HCM), payroll, and PEO advisory firm based in San Juan Capistrano, California, serving employers throughout California. Information we collect
- Information you give us — name, company, email, phone, company size, current provider, and anything you type into our contact form or concierge chat.
- Booking information — when you schedule through our embedded Calendly, Calendly collects your name, email, and scheduling details.
- Usage & device information — IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring site, and UTM campaign parameters collected through cookies and similar technologies (only after you accept analytics cookies).
How we use information
- Respond to your inquiry and schedule a complimentary payroll, HCM, or PEO review.
- Send follow-up emails related to a review you requested (you can opt out any time).
- Measure site performance and improve content and navigation.
- Detect abuse and keep the site secure.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Your California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how we use it.
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no opt-out is required, but you can still submit a request below.
- Limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that require this right.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
To submit a request, email kim@blueocean-payroll.com with the subject "California Privacy Request." We will verify your identity using the contact details we already have on file before acting on the request. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission.
Data retention
We keep contact form submissions, chat transcripts, and lead records for as long as needed to respond and maintain a record of the business relationship, and then delete or anonymize them on request.
Service providers we use
- Lovable Cloud — website hosting and database.
- Calendly — schedules appointments you book from this site.
- Lovable AI Gateway — powers the concierge chat conversation.
Children's privacy
Our services are directed to businesses and are not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
